Job Description:

Senior IT Assistant in the Department of Ophthalmology, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526612) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicant should possess a Higher Diploma or above in Computer Science or a related discipline, preferably with 3 years of work experience. They should have knowledge of web content support, network security as well as skills in the use of video editing techniques and graphic design tools such as Adobe AI and Photoshop. Familiarity with web development languages including JavaScript, CSS, PHP, HTML and SQL, and the use of Windows Server, SQL Server, or other server management tools are required. Experience in tender support and infrastructure setting for clinical equipment is highly preferred. They should also have a good command of spoken and written English, ability to work independently and a strong sense of responsibility.

The appointee will be responsible for the procurement, setup, administration and maintenance of computing facilities, maintenance of the departmental website, and providing technical support to staff members. He/She will provide programming solutions involving the development and enhancement of various web-based applications and materials (such as the development and maintenance of web-based systems that could incorporate images with electronic patient record, and searchable databases).

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, in addition to annual leave and medical benefits. The appointment on fixed-term basis will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary.
