Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (2 posts) (Ref: 526476) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Multiple openings are available with specialisation in Electrical or Biomedical/Chemical Engineering. Applicants should possess a recognised Bachelor’s degree/higher diploma or related discipline, with at least two years of relevant post-qualification work experience in hardware construction, power electronics, green energy, machinery operation, or biomedical/chemical material handling and instrumentation. They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English with computer literacy. Those with first-aid training certificates are desirable. They should also be confident, independent, ready to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Applicants with lower qualifications or less experience may be considered for appointment as Technical Officer.

The appointees will provide comprehensive technical services for staff in both teaching and research activities; manage and ensure the safety of laboratories; purchase and repair equipment; prepare and maintain technical documentation; assist project students; and perform other duties as assigned.
