Job Description:

Assistant Finance Manager in the Technology Transfer Office (Ref.: 526562) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a good Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related disciplines, with at least 5 years of post-qualification experience in the accounting and auditing field, of which at least 2-3 years at supervisory or management level. A qualified accountant (CPA, ACCA or equivalent) with knowledge of designing Chart of Accounts, implementing new accounting systems, and supervising the day-to-day accounting operation is preferred. They should also have a good command of English and Chinese (including Putonghua), excellent communication and organizational skills, and proficiency in computer applications. Experience in the higher education sector, academic or research institute, or a public/quasi-public organization is a distinctive advantage.

The appointee will oversee the finance and accounting function for the group of companies; formulate and implement finance and accounting policies, guidelines, and procedures; monitor financial governance structure and internal control procedures; implement accounting systems; prepare regular and ad-hoc financial reports and analysis including budgets and variance analysis; and liaise with auditors relating to the examination of financial statements and other audit-related activities. He/She will also provide support in managing the procurement function in accordance with funding rules and guidelines. Information about the Office can be obtained at http://www.tto.hku.hk.
