Job Description:

Assistant Hall Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) for Madam S H Ho Residence for Medical Students and Patrick Manson Student Residence, in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref: 526488) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a good university degree with at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in student housing or residential halls setting, or property and estate management in tertiary education institution. He/She should have effective communication skills, a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, and computer literacy. They should be mature, decisive, task-oriented, and able to work independently as well as a team in a fast-paced environment with different stakeholders. He/She will be required to perform on-call and emergency duties when necessary and is expected to sustain a constructive relationship with various units within the Faculty and HKU to co-create a positive living experience for the residents.

The appointee will oversee the administration of the two student residences on Sassoon Road that accommodate over 280 residents in single and shared bedrooms. He/She will lead a team of clerical and front-line staff to manage daily operation of the Residences, such as counter services, repair and maintenance, cleaning, security, and other contracted-out services. He/She will also manage student hall application and hall admission, human resources and personnel issues, budgeting and financial matters, planning and preparation of new residential buildings, and perform other duties as assigned in support of the Faculty's mission, core values and goals. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview and/or written test.
