Job Description:

Senior Research Assistant / Research Assistant in the Department of Social Work and Social Administration (Ref: 526485) (to commence as soon as possible for one year, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a Master’s degree in Social Sciences, Statistics, Social Work, Sociology, Psychology, Criminology or related disciplines, with at least one-year research experience. Those with interest in the topics of family, violence and delinquency, women issues, mental health, and interventions are preferred. They should be competent in advanced quantitative analysis (e.g. SEM, multi-level modelling) and experienced in using statistical software (e.g. STATA, SPSS, and R) and qualitative analysis program (e.g. NVivo). They should also have an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese (including Cantonese); a strong sense of responsibility; excellent organizational and interpersonal skill; ability to work independently and as a team, and to collaborate with external parties.

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in managing research projects and be responsible for literature review, data collection, data analysis, preparation of presentations, drafting proposal and reports, and performing any other duties as assigned. The appointee will have ample opportunities to work with social workers, psychologists, multidisciplinary professionals, and other stakeholders in the local community. Those with strong research experience may be considered for appointment as Senior Research Assistant. Only shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
