Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity

We are looking for a Research Risk and Compliance Manager to lead the implementation of the  Trusted Research – Protective Security Requirements (TR-PSR) within the University, with a particular focus on sensitive research projects and technologies.  In this role you will partner with researchers, research teams and other subject matter experts to undertake due diligence assessments of international collaborations, complete risk assessments and develop management plans for TR-PSR related risks.  You will act as a key interface with regulators and other universities in developing best practice guidelines and training materials on TR-PSR.  You will also provide direct support to the University’s Export Controls Officer to develop export controls compliance plans.

This is a full-time, 37.5 hours per week, on a permanent contract. The salary range for this role is $94,900 - $117,200, depending on experience and qualifications.

He kōrero mōu | About you

Our suitable candidate will meet the requirements below:

  • A tertiary qualification (postgraduate qualification preferred).
  • At least four years experience working in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated experience undertaking risk assessments and developing risk management plans.
  • Knowledge of international standards for risk management.
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislative requirements.
  • Ability to review technical research proposals to identify potential risks.
  • Prior knowledge of TR-PSR related issues is preferred.
