Job Description:

Research Assistant I/II (holding the functional title of Assistant Project Manager / Project Coordinator) in the Department of Pharmacology and Pharmacy (Ref.: 526391)

We now invite applications for the captioned post(s).

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Mainly assist the management of the project related to community pharmacy services
  • Assist in patient recruitment, and design of face-to-face interviews (individual or focus group) and surveys
  • Prepare transcription and translation of the audio-taped scripts
  • Data management and analysis
  • Prepare reports
  • Handle inquiries from related parties
  • Assist in the logistics arrangement for project coordination
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Possess a Bachelor's degree in healthcare-related or social sciences disciplines including but not limited to pharmacy, nursing, psychology, public health, health economics, social work and social administration or a related field with relevant experience in qualitative research
  • Experience in conducting qualitative studies (e.g. patient recruitment, conducting individual and/or focus group interviews, designing questionnaires for survey studies, survey validation, data collection and analysis using qualitative methods and various tools, e.g. NVivo, Quadrics) or mixed methods will be an advantage
  • Excellent coordination, organization and problem-solving skills
  • A good command of spoken and written English and Chinese (Cantonese)
  • A strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently as well as in a team
  • Those with higher qualifications and more experience will be appointed as Research Assistant I.

What We Offer

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a 1-year temporary basis or 2-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered.

The appointment on fixed terms will attract a contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary.
