Job Description:

Clerk II/Clerical Assistant in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 526314) (to commence as soon as possible on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Clerk II

Applicants should possess a higher diploma or above with at least one year’s relevant work experience in tertiary institutions. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); good interpersonal skills and telephone manner; self-motivation and a strong sense of responsibility; a good teamwork attitude; be able to multitask and prioritize work. They should have proficient computer skills (such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Chinese word processing, etc.). Those with a competency in computer skill and/or graphic design will be given preference. Degree holders will be offered the functional title of Executive Assistant.

Clerical Assistant

Applicants should have 5 passes in HKCEE, including English (min. Grade C if Syllabus A/Level 2 from 2007) and Chinese (Level 2 from 2007), OR min. Level 2 in 5 subjects in HKDSEE including English Language and Chinese Language, preferably with relevant work experience. They should have a fair command of written and spoken English and Chinese (Cantonese and Putonghua); proficiency in Microsoft Office applications; willingness to learn, good interpersonal skills; self-motivation, and be detail-minded with a strong sense of responsibility.

The appointee will provide comprehensive clerical and office support, including manning the reception counter, handling general office inquiries, dispatching mail, purchasing stationery, photocopying, and filing documents. He/She will also provide support to office maintenance and supply, liaise with the Estates Office and Service Providers in the University, assist in the programme administration and School’s event logistics, and perform any other duties as assigned by the School. For Clerk II, he/she will put increased focus on providing logistical support for programmes, projects, and events. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to attend an interview.
