Post-doctoral Fellow in the Division of Nephrology of the Department of Medicine, School of Clinical Medicine (Ref.: 526254)

Duties and Responsibilities

  • assist in research studies led by Prof Sydney CW Tang (https://medic.hku.hk/en/Staff/University-Academic-Staff/Prof-TANG-Chi-Wai,-Sydney/Prof-TANG-Chi-Wai-Sydney-Profile)
  • participate in research projects encompassing the realm of renal inflammation and fibrosis, the focus of the research is to elucidate the cellular and molecular mechanisms of different forms of chronic kidney disease in translational medicine including diabetic kidney disease and IgA nephropathy, focusing on immunology and metabolism
  • perform other duties as assigned

Requirements

  • a Ph.D. degree in Biomedical Sciences or a related discipline, with a strong background in biochemistry, molecular biology or related fields
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work independently with high motivation
  • experience in handling laboratory animals and/or a good publication record would be advantageous

The appointment will commence as soon as possible on a temporary basis for up to 3 years, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability.
