Job Description:

The Faculty of Social Sciences is looking for Assistant Lecturer/Lecturer to join the Experiential Learning team, to play a key role in creating innovative and engaging experiential learning opportunities for undergraduate students, with a focus on Psychology.

Duties and Responsibilities

The appointee will primarily be responsible for managing credit-bearing internships as part of the Social Innovation and Global Citizenship Programme and deliver the following duties:

  • Promote, coordinate and supervise psychology internships for undergraduate students
  • Develop and foster strong partnerships with external organisations that provide placement opportunities
  • Provide career development training to equip students with essential professional skills
  • Contribute to curriculum development and delivery

Requirements

  • A recognised Master's degree or above in Psychology, Counselling, or related disciplines of Social Sciences
  • A minimum of three years’ post-qualification work experience, preferably with a background of teaching at tertiary institutions and work related to psychology
  • Preference will be given to candidates with experience in conducting training on career development
  • Strong organisational, administrative, interpersonal and networking skills
  • Proactive and innovative approach to consistently seek out creative solutions to challenges and opportunities.
  • Excellent communication skills in English and Chinese (including Cantonese and Putonghua)

What We Offer

The appointment will be made on fixed-term full-time contract for two years, to commence as soon as possible with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 10% of basic salary for Assistant Lecturer, and 15% of basic salary for Lecturer. Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries.
