Job Description:

The Trainer/Manager, Career Education - In-Employment Learners will assume the role of trainer and facilitator and be part of a team of career educators that provides customised career development programmes for SIT students. The candidate will be responsible for conducting customised career skills programmes for in-employment learners enrolled in the Competency-based Stackable Micro-credential (CSM). The candidate will also work with the learners to address career development knowledge and skills gaps. This would involve creating customise guidance and coaching sessions to assess and support the learners’ development of competencies. The candidate will also guide learners in developing portfolio to demonstrate their achievements of competencies.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage the development of career skills education for in-employment learners which include the following:
  • Work with team of career educators to conceptualise, design, develop and deliver engaging career skills curriculum and assessment materials that meet curriculum requirements
  • Facilitate students’ learning, assessing, and grading of assessment
  • Assess and coach learners to address career development skills gap
  • Coordinate with faculty members / subject matter experts for assessment of portfolio for the purpose of recognition of prior learning
  • Work with team of career educators to review teaching methods and assessments that align with new technologies and approaches in education
  • Recommend and take charge of the potential use of learning technology and systems to support learning experience
  • Evaluates effectiveness of training programmes and provide recommendations for improvement
  1. Any other duties as assigned by Associate Vice President, Centre for Career Readiness

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree from a good University with at least 8 years of relevant work experience, preferably with a teaching or training and development qualifications
  • Experience working with in-employment learners would be advantageous
  • Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent presentation, training, and facilitation skills
  • Strong administrative and IT or media skills
  • Passionate about helping students and able to relate to students and understand issues/problems quickly
