Job Description:

Research Assistant II (several posts) in Community Child Health in the Department of Paediatrics and Adolescent Medicine (Ref.: 525917) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis or a one-year temporary basis, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

The appointee will participate in a large-scale cohort study of physical fitness level and physical activity rate as well as children’s diet among children and adolescents in Hong Kong. We aim to investigate the physical activities participation rate of youths aged 6 to 17-year-old and find out the association of children and teenagers’ physical fitness level related to their physical activities participation rates, individual and family factors.

You will be expected, but not limited, to liaise with schools, perform data collection, organize fieldwork at schools for data collection, supervise student helpers, filing and analysis under supervision. On-the-job training will be provided. Your primary work location will be in Hong Kong Children’s Hospital, Kowloon Bay.

You should possess a Bachelor's degree or above in Community Child Health, Public Health, Social Sciences, Psychology, Statistics or other healthcare-related disciplines, preferably with at least one year's post-qualification. The successful candidate will have a creative approach to problem-solving, be self-motivated, highly committed, able to work in a team, have excellent verbal and written communication skills of English and Chinese and good organizational and administrative skills.
