Applications are invited for a position as a Research Assistant I/II in the Department of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering, to commence as soon as possible for one to two years subject to satisfactory performance.

Applicants should hold a bachelor's degree or above, preferably with multi-disciplinary education background, for example in health science, nursing, engineering, computer sciences, or other related discipline. Those with research experience in gerontechenology and/or applying technology solutions to studies are preferred. They should demonstrate strong competency in IT and/or application, experimental design, data analysis and have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese.

The Principal Investigator is in charge of a study that aims to improve older individuals' mobility through the development and application of technology. The appointee will contribute to strengthen the University’s strategically oriented research themes on Health Tech. In particular, the appointee is expected to contribute to innovative scholarship in human-robot collaboration and gerontechnology in multi-disciplinary research projects.

The appointee will assist the Principal Investigator in publication, managing and monitoring the project implementation; overseeing data collection and data analysis; preparing presentations and reports; and supervising other research-support staff. He/She will have ample opportunity to collaborate with scholars with multi-disciplinary background, service professionals and domain experts.
