Job Description:

Research Assistant I in the Faculty of Education (Ref.: 503098) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or above in Education, Social Sciences, or a related discipline, with at least 2 years’ post-qualification research experience. They should have a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese, strong analytical skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of teacher education, schools and teaching in Hong Kong, and educational research and professional development in the local/regional contexts of Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area is a definite advantage.

The appointee will provide research and administrative support for the Academy for Leadership in Teacher Education (ALiTE) (https://www.alite.edu.hku.hk) in the Faculty of Education. He/She will be responsible for supporting the work across ALiTE’s four pillars: 1) Professional Development, 2) Exchange and Collaboration, 3) Knowledge Generation, and 4) Resource Curating. For research, the appointee will be expected to conduct literature review, collect and process research data (quantitative and qualitative), conduct data entry and analysis, manage research documentation, prepare reports/policy briefs and summaries, and perform other research-related duties as assigned. For administrative work, the appointee will be expected to provide support to database management and logistics of meetings and conferences/symposia, and perform other administrative tasks as required.
