Assistant Hall Manager (at the rank of Executive Officer) for Madam S.H. Ho Residence for Medical Studentsand Patrick Manson Student Residence in the LKS Faculty of Medicine (Ref.: 502186­­­­) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance)

Applicants should have a good university degree with at least 3 years’ relevant post-qualification experience, preferably in property/ estate management in tertiary education institution/ student housing/ hostel setting. They should be mature, decisive and task-oriented with effective communication skill inclusive of a good command of written and spoken English and Chinese; and competent computer literacy. They should also have demonstrated ability to work independently and leadership quality to work as a team in a fast-paced environment with different stakeholders.

The appointee will oversee the administration of the two student residences on Sassoon Road that accommodate over 280 residents in single and shared bedrooms. He/She will lead a team of clerical and front-line staff to manage the daily operation of the Residences, including counter services; repair and maintenance; cleaning; security; manpower arrangement; and other contracted-out services, etc. He/She will also manage student application and admission to the Residences; human resources and personnel issues; budgeting and financial matters; planning and preparation of new residential buildings; and any other tasks assigned by the supervisor. The appointee will be required to live on-site in the staff quarter provided, work irregular hours, and perform on-call and emergency duties when necessary.

The appointee is expected to sustain a constructive relationship with various units within the Faculty and HKU to provide sufficient provision and to co-create a positive living experience to all residents. He/She may be tasked to perform other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the Faculty's mission, core values and goals.
