Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Curriculum Developer with a focus on job skills analysis. The successful candidate will play a critical role in enhancing workforce upskilling and reskilling by conducting in-depth job market skills research, detailed job analysis to identify the competencies, and developing targeted competency-based assessments of these competencies.

The successful candidate will have a background in skills analysis, data analytics and AI, instructional design, and competency-based education. This role requires expertise in linking skill descriptors to competency-based education (CBE) frameworks and designing curricula through activity mapping with employers. The candidate will collaborate with subject-matter experts to refine CBE programs and create tailored training solutions for adult learners. Reporting to the Deputy Director of the dynamic team in the SIT Teaching and Learning Academy, the successful candidate will work with both internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Job Skills Analysis:
    • Conduct thorough job analyses to identify key responsibilities, skills, and competencies required for various roles within the sector of interest.
    • Engage end-users’ (individuals, enterprises) to understand their job skills needs.
    • Develop job descriptions and specifications based on the analysis.
    • Perform job-skills mapping to align with industry standards.
  2. Job Market Research:
    • Perform skills and knowledge gap analysis, scanning the sector for best practices and emerging trends.
    • Define and categorize core competencies for different roles.
  3. Curriculum Development:
    • Collaborate closely with internal divisions, external stakeholders and subject matter experts to co-develop comprehensive training programs and competency-based curricula.
    • Ensure training programs incorporate skill descriptors and link them to competency-based education frameworks.
    • Develop curriculum based on activity mapping with employers to ensure practical, job-relevant training.
    • Create engaging and interactive learning materials, including e-learning modules, workshops, and hands-on activities.
  4. Skills Assessments:
    • Collaborate with subject matter experts to develop and implement competency assessments to measure learner competencies.
    • Utilize assessment results to refine training programs and address specific skills gaps.
  5. Training Delivery:
    • Facilitate training sessions and workshops for subject-matter-experts on skills analysis and competency-based curricula development.
    • Build the internal team's capability in job-skills analysis.

Job Requirements

  • 7-10 years of relevant experience in skills analysis, instructional design, or curriculum development.
  • Strong familiarity with skills taxonomy and skill descriptors.
  • Proven ability to conduct job skills analysis and market research.
  • Expertise in curriculum development and instructional design.
  • Experience with competency-based education approaches.
  • Experience in designing curriculum based on job activity mapping.
  • Ability to design and implement skills assessments in collaboration with subject-matter experts.
  • Proficiency in using learning management systems (LMS) and e-learning authoring tools.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Understanding of adult learning principles and experience in designing effective training programs.
