Senior Technical Officer/Technical Officer in the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Ref.: 520358) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totalling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal)

Applicants should possess a Bachelor’s degree or Higher Diploma in Engineering/Science or related disciplines. They should have a good command of written and spoken Chinese and English; good coordination, organisational and problem-solving skills; be highly motivated with a strong sense of responsibility and the ability to work independently and in a team. Knowledge in equipment setup or chemical handling would be an advantage. Fresh graduates with an interest in this post are also welcome to apply.

The appointee will be responsible for supporting daily operations and maintenance of laboratories. On-job training will be provided, duties including but not limited to:

• manage and ensure safety of laboratories;
• purchase and repair equipment;
• provide equipment operation training and safety training to laboratory users;
• coordinate with the safety office on chemical handling and disposal protocols; and
• perform any other duties as assigned.
