Administrative Assistant II/Executive Officer in the Faculty of Social Sciences (several posts) (Ref.: 515535) (to commence as soon as possible, on a two-year fixed-term basis with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme, totaling up to 10% of basic salary, with the possibility of renewal subject to satisfactory performance and funding availability)

Applicants should possess a recognized Bachelor's degree with at least 5 years’ post-qualification work experience in a supervisory role. They should be competent communicators with an excellent command of written and spoken English and Chinese; effective inter-personal, organizational and communication skills; and able to work independently or in a team on multi-tasking under pressure to meet tight deadlines. They should have a proven track record of academic programme administration or PR/event management experience. A strong sense of responsibility, self-motivation and attention to details with problem-solving skills are essential. They should also possess versatile skills in leading junior executive and clerical staff to support the Faculty administration. Those with less experience may be considered for appointment as Executive Officer.

For the post (a), the appointee(s) will be responsible for a range of strategic new initiatives to enhance the teaching and learning quality of education programme management, student wellness and engagement and provide administrative support to a variety of academic and teaching and learning related activities, including admissions, academic planning, curriculum development, etc. He/She will also provide administrative and secretarial support to committees/meetings, and be expected to lead a small team to support the day-to-day operation of all undergraduate and/or postgraduate student related matters; and to perform any other duties as assigned.

For the post (b), the appointee(s) will be responsible for the outreach activities and marketing/PR of the Faculty as well as its research centres/clusters (e.g. to coordinate and oversee special community/research projects; seminars, conferences and symposia; production of publicity materials, etc.), undertake committee servicing and HR/Finance budgeting and management, and to perform any other duties as assigned. Work outside office hours and on weekends may be required as necessary occasionally. Applicants who have responded to the previous advertisement (Ref.: 512150) need not re-apply.
