Kōrero mō te tūranga - About the role

Te Herenga Waka - Victoria University of Wellington is currently recruiting for a Senior Web Content Adviser—Marketing to join its Engagement Group. The role will be responsible for the development of digital solutions for our web channels and email marketing. This includes developing content that supports student recruitment objectives.

The Senior Web Content Adviser—Marketing will be required to work with other members of the Marketing team in a cohesive and coordinated manner to make sure the University’s brand, image and strategic vision are delivered in an appropriate and consistent manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop appropriate web and digital solutions that support student recruitment activities and the University's strategic drivers.
  • Works collaboratively with other Digital Engagement team members, Digital Solutions, and other service providers to develop and implement digital solutions.
  • Plans, writes, edits, and assists in the development of user-focused, high-quality content across the University’s web channel.
  • Develops and undertakes user research and user acceptance testing activities.
  • Contributes to the management of content on the University’s websites ensuring web best practice and the University's style guidelines are met.
  • Contributes to the use of best practice Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) to ensure the optimal ranking for key pages.
  • Provide expert advice and guidance on content organisation to support the needs of the information architecture, usability, and accessibility
  • Promotes email marketing best practices.
  • Trains University staff to use email marketing software.
  • Runs analytics reports to analyse how the University’s websites are performing to support improvements to our customer journeys, user experience, and search rankings.
  • Liaises closely and builds positive relationships with staff at all levels of the University.
  • Assist and support content owners and key stakeholders to optimise their web presence.
  • Manages web content for marketing campaigns and content projects effectively recognising risks and issues and ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Works closely with all members of the Marketing team to ensure that University’s brand, image and the expression of the vision are portrayed in an appropriate and consistent manner.

Key Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of relevant web marketing and communication experience in a complex organisation.
  • Proven experience writing digital marketing material.
  • Sound knowledge of current web best practice.
  • Well-developed communication, relationship management and organisational skills.
  • Team environment, consultation and/or collaboration experience.
  • Multi-tasking and work prioritisation experience.
  • Flexible, responsive to customer needs, and proven ability of working to demanding deadlines.
